Capitale sociale, servizi pubblici e stato sociale

Questa sezione è dedicata al rapporto tra capitale sociale e Stato sociale nella fornitura dei servizi pubblici e nella garanzia dei meccanismi di protezione sociale. In particolare, determinate forme di capitale sociale possono migliorare l'efficienza e l'efficacia dei sistemi pubblici di protezione sociale. Per esempio, alcuni studi riportati in questa sezione mostrano come le reti informali di assistenza reciproca possano favorire una diminuzione della spesa sociale, favorendo un miglioramento dell'efficienza. La maggiore capacità di coordinamento connessa a elevate dotazioni di capitale sociale d'altro canto può migliorare l'efficacia nell'erogazione di determinati servizi pubblici.
