PhD Student at the Universität Osnabrück

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Microeconomics subject group in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Osnabrück (www.wiwi.uni-osnabrueck.de) has TWO openings for

PhD Positions in
Experimental and Behavioural Economics
(Entgelt-Gr. 13 TV-L, 50%)

for a duration of three years, starting from April 1, 2009 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The University of Osnabrück has recently undertaken substantial investment in experimental economics. There are laboratory facilities and funds available to support research. The successful candidates will be expected to develop a programme of research in any area of experimental and behavioural economics. Research supervision will be provided. The successful candidates will join a growing group of experimental and behavioural researchers in the Microeconomics and Management & Accounting subject groups of the Faculty, respectively under the direction of Prof. Humphrey (formerly of the Universities of Nottingham and East Anglia) and Prof. Gillenkirch (formerly of the University of Göttingen).

Teaching responsibilities will consist of two hours per week. The Microeconomics subject group is developing an English language curriculum and competence in English is therefore a requirement of the positions.

Candidates should hold a Masters Degree, Diplom or equivalent qualification in economics or a closely related subject.

The university of Osnabrück aims to increase the number of women in academic employment. Women are therefore especially encouraged to apply and will be preferentially considered under the condition of equal qualification. Also disabled candidates are given a preference under the provision of equal qualification.

Please send your application (including a covering letter which describes your research interests, CV and a list of any publications) in English to: Prof. Steve Humphrey PhD, Fachgebiet Mikroökonomik, insbes. Informationsökonomik, Fachbereich Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Universität Osnabrück, Rolandstr. 8, D-49069 Osnabrück, Germany.

The deadline for applications is 10.02.2009 Informal enquiries should be addressed by e-mail to Steve Humphrey (steve.humphrey@uni-osnabrueck.de).

Application has to be received by 10. February 2009.
