The Fiscal and Municipal Management (FMM) Division at the Inter-American Development Bank is seeking a Research Fellow with an advanced degree in Economics (PhD or PhD candidate) or a related field to work at headquarters in Washington, D.C. The IDB is an international organization which provides solutions to development challenges in 26 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, partnering with governments, companies and civil society organizations. FMM is a Division that conducts economic and public policy research, and provides support to member countries through the design and implementation of lending and non-lending operations. This position is a full-time, fixed term, for a minimum of one year, and up to two years.
The Division’s upcoming work plan includes research on fiscal issues, public sector finance, urban development, growth, and regional economic development. The Research Fellow will work with FMM staff on Bank’s activities, including research, and lending and non-lending operations. The successful candidate must be proficient in the use of advanced quantitative, statistical and econometric techniques. Experience with analysis of panel data, time series, micro/macro-simulation techniques, is desirable. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
