Presentation

The UK Social Network Conference offers an interdisciplinary venue for social and behavioural scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists, physicists, statisticians, and others to present their work in the area of social networks. The primary objective of the Conference is to facilitate interactions between the many different disciplines interested in network science. The Conference provides a unique opportunity for the dissemination and debate of recent advances in experimental, theoretical and applied network research.

Call for papers

We invite submissions of extended abstracts on theories, methods, or applications of social network analysis. Submission of full papers is not required. Extended abstracts should be of no more than three pages and clearly indicate either the research purpose, methodology, and findings, or the discussion area and implications for the field. Topics include, but are not limited to:

• Models of networks (Random graph models; "Small-world" networks; "Scale-free" networks)
• Empirical studies of cross-sectional and longitudinal network datasets
• Knowledge and communication networks
• Social network analysis of communities of practice
• Network evolution and growth mechanisms
• Information diffusion in social networks
• Affiliation networks
• Epidemics and rumors in networks
• Robustness of networks
• Interpersonal influence, contagion, and collective decision-making
• Searching networks
• Algorithms for detecting community structure
• Geographical clusters, networks, and innovation
• Effects of network structure and dynamics on knowledge transfer and sharing
• Online communities and computer networks
• Computational models and agent-based simulations of networks
• Networks and terrorism

Abstract Submission Deadline: Monday 21st May
Registration Deadline: Monday 4th June

Authors will be notified of acceptance by the end of May. All accepted extended abstracts will be made available to delegates prior to the Conference. All delegates will be provided with copies of the proceedings upon arrival. Speakers may wish to bring paper copies of their articles for distribution during the Conference.
