Assistant (PhD student) in Economics at the Université du Luxembourg (Luxembourg)

The University of Luxembourg has a vacancy in its Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance for 1 Assistant (PhD student) in Economics (M/F) With a specialization in Micro economics. Ref: F2-070016 (to be mentioned in all correspondence) 2-year fixed-term contract, 40h/week, renewable once.
The assistant will be working in the Economic Department and within the research unit, CREA. The assistant is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of Micro-economics with preference to Industrial Organizations, International Economics, Regional Economics, Spatial Economics and Economic Geography.
Tasks
- The assistant’s main task will consist in contributing to the research within the research unit, CREA, and preparing a doctoral thesis in the field of Micro-economics. The thesis has to be done at the University of Luxembourg but can be part of a joint supervision with another university.
- Contribute to the teaching at the rate of one or three hours per week of small group teaching and tutorials.
Profile
- Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics or Management Science (with high level quantitative background)
- Language skills sufficient to work in a multilingual environment, i.e. fluency in English and/or French is a prerequisite; German will be considered an advantage.
Offer
- Personal work space at the University (full-time contract requires the assistant to work on the University premises).
