The Department of Economics of Maastricht University, the Netherlands, is offering tenure track Assistant Professorships and Post-doc positions in the areas of Microeconomics (especially Economic Theory and Industrial Organization), Public Economics, Behavioral and Experimental Economics (including Neuroeconomics) to commence in 2010.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The applicants contribute to research and teaching (in English) in the area of Microeconomics (especially economic Theory and Industrial Organization) and/or Public Economics and/or Behavioral and Experimental Economics. Administrative duties will be limited.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
* Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related subject area (completed or nearly completed)
* Affinity with academic research and teaching
* Strong research orientation
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Tenure track positions are initially offered for a three-year period and, subject to a positive evaluation, extended by another three years, with the possibility of tenure thereafter. Post-doc positions are offered for two years with a substantially reduced teaching load. Salary is competitive, depending on qualifications and work experience, and ranges from EUR 3195 to EUR 4970 per month (12 monthly payments) for a full-time job. On top of this, there is an 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% end of year allowance. Non-Dutch applicants could be eligible for a favorable tax treatment (30% rule).
