Education

• January 2005, Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Pavia. Thesis title: "Social capital and economic growth: a theoretical analysis and evidence from Italian regions and provinces". Supervisors: Pier Luigi Sacco (IUAV University of Venice) and Giovanni Verga (University of Parma).

• March 2004, period of study at the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcellona

• June 2003, XIV Residential Course in Econometrics, organised by the CIDE (Centro Interuniversitario di Econometria) at the University Residential Center of Bertinoro (Italy), University of Bologna, 2-14 June 2003.

• September 2001, enrollment with 3-year grant in the PhD programme in Economics, University of Pavia. Courses successfully attended during the first year: History of economic thought, Macroeconomics, Microeconomic Theory and Econometrics

• November 2000, Laurea (University Degree) in Economics, University of Parma, Faculty of Economics. Dissertation: "Poverty and Empowerment: the role of microcredit". Distinction: 110/110 cum laude.
