WASD Annual International Conference
27th - 29th August 2008 University of Sussex, Brighton, United Kingdom
Presentation
The World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) acts as a meeting platform where participants from all over the world meet each other annually to experience new ideas and cultures, travel and see new places and learn about all of the aspects of world sustainable development together with their future colleagues. The objective is to create a fresh knowledge base and provide direction to all participants to effectively deal with future challenges of world sustainable development. Every year, WASD organises the Annual International Conference, which consists of sessions of Keynote Speakers, General Assembly, Plenary Sessions, Papers Presentation and Excursions (visits and tour) in the organizing country.

Objective of the conference
The objective of this conference is to explore global viewpoints on different issues relating to Science, Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development (SD) and why they are important, and to provoke forward thinking on the role of science and technology in solving global problems related to sustainability.
The aim is to address growing concerns for the future of our interlocked ecological, political and economic systems in a highly populated world that is characterised by major social and economic disparities.
