Scope

 

Following the four previous issues of the ARS  workshop in Salerno, Naples and Rome (http://www.ars15.unisa.it/past_ars) we are pleased to invite you to submit a paper to the fifth  issue of ARS that will be held in Anacapri (Capri island) on April 29-30, 2015.

ARS'15 aims at presenting the most relevant results and the most recent methodological developments in dealing with LARGE NETWORK and BIG DATA.

The workshop also aims to deepen existing scientific cooperation between social network analysts, to establish new cooperation between researchers, and to provide a multi-disciplinary forum for exchange of ideas.

 
 
Topics  

Papers of interest including (but not limited to) the following topics are solicited:

  • Analysis of Large-Scale Networks
  • Structural Large Network Properties
  • Community Detection and structure in Large Networks
  • Visualization of Large Networks
  • Methodological problems in large network studies
  • Dynamics and evolution patterns of large networks
  • Big data storage, processing and network analysis
  • Social network data mining and analytics
  • Graph theory and social networks
  • Methodological problems in large network studies
  • Statistical methods for the analysis of network data
  • Knowledge and innovation networks
  • Cultural networks
  • Social movements and civic organization networks
  • Analysis of communication, collaboration, organizational, economic, political, governance, or criminal networks
  • Network analysis in human and social sciences (e.g., anthropology, psychology, sociology, history, law, archeology, etc.)

Applications in several fields (Telecommunications networks, Collaboration networks, Online Social Networks, Healthcare, etc.) are also strongly encouraged.

 
Sessions  
The scientific program includes plenary, invited and contributed paper sessions with oral presentation.

Instructions for authors:

 

Detailed submission instructions will be posted on Paper Submission page http://www.ars15.unisa.it/submission.

Length of abstract: max 500 words.

Registration is required.

All submitted short abstracts are subject to acceptance by the Scientific Program Committee members. Accepted papers will be presented at the  workshop as full talks.

For co-authored papers, at least one author must be registered and attend the conference.

 

Post-Proceedings

 

Selected papers will be considered for publication in a special or in a regular issue of the journal Social Network Analysis and Mining.

Post conference full papers could be submitted for publication in the series Lecture Notes in Social Networks
(guest editors Pietro Panzarasa, Giancarlo Ragozini, Giuseppe Giordano)

Regular peer-review process will be followed.

Short Course  
A two-day short course will be held before the Workshop (April 27-28, 2015).
The short course will be on "Large Network Analysis"
