Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia invites prospective applicants with outstanding academic merit to apply for the PhD positions in Economics, where scholarships are available.

The Economics discipline at Deakin is academically extremely strong. Publications of the faculty appear in the top-caliber journals such as Econometrica, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, Review of Economics and Statistics, European Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Economic Theory, to name some. Melbourne is the "cultural capital" of Australia, and is one of the best places in the world to live and study.

Deakin academics can provide supervision in a wide range of areas including, but not limited to:
• industrial organization
• economic theory
• economic dynamics and optimal control
• international economics
• economic growth and development
• labour economics and industrial relations
• health economics
• political economy and public choice

PhD scholarships cover tuition fees, and include a monthly stipend for the entire study period, plus health insurance. Positions involve research and teaching assistantship as well.
