In the morning sessions (9-12), we will discuss examples and required programming tools. In the afternoon computer sessions (14-16), students have the opportunity to consolidate the material from the morning lecture.

University of the Basque Country and Urrutia Elejalde Foundation - San Sebastian, Spain
Summer School on Economics and Philosophy "Social Norms"
Since 1998 the Urrutia Elejalde has annually organized a Summer School on frontier topics between philosophy, economics and other social sciences, bringing together scholars from all these fields to explore them. The aim of this year Summer School is to introduce participants to the vast research that is taking place in the area of social norms. From philosophy and psychology to evolutionary game theory and experimental economics, recent work on social norms is shedding light on why and under what circumstances people engage in pro-social behavior, and how norms may emerge, stabilize or decay.

University of Bologna - Bologna, Italy
PhD Program in Economics
The PhD Program offered by the Department of Economics at the University of
Bologna (DSE). This program aims at training students for a career as economists in
academic institutions or in research departments of corporations, public organizations,
financial institutions and the government.
The program has a standard organization and is taught in English. In the first year students
are asked to take six courses in quantitative methods, mcroeconomics and
macroeconomics. By the end of the first year they will also have to choose a field of
specialization and a research supervisor.
In the second year, students will choose six more advanced courses consistent with their
field of specialization. The rest of the program is devoted to work on the dissertation. To this
aim students will be asked to present their papers in the monthly PhD informal meetings and
in the more formal second and third year PhD forums.
The considerable diversification of research areas covered by the members of the DSE and
their international reputation provide an outstanding environment where students of most
fields in economics may find research ideas and tight guidance for their doctoral studies.
The department of Economics of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia is a partner
institution in the PhD Program.
