Rankings
of scientific journals and publications
This section collects rankings of social science peer-reviewed journals based on some poular indexes of their impact on the scientific research, like:
The Impact factor computed by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) of the Thomson Reuters Corporation within its Journal Citation Reports. Information on the ISI Impact Factor (IF) is drawn from each journal's web site. Note that every journal indexed by Thomson Reuters reports its IF and ranking on the home page.
Information on the Impact Factor are available on Wikipedia.
The Article Influence Score (AIS) computed by the Eigenfactor Project sponsored by the Bergstrom lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Washington. The method for the building of the AIS is described available on the Eigenfactor Project's web site.
The H-index computed for economics journals by the RePEc Project based on the citation analysis provided by the CitEc project, which uses data from items listed in RePEc. Information on the H-Index are available on Wikipedia.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Data have been collected on the web through the following procedure:
a) Starting from a series of listings provided by various sources (e.g. Wikipedia list of academic journals and RePEc list of economics journals), the journals' web sites have been browsed to see their ISI Impact factor which is generally reported on the home page. The sources of this information are the journals' web sites.
b) Journals have then been ordered according to their ISI Impact factor, which is therefore taken as the main criterion of the classification. Of course this is a questionable choice, so critiques, comments and suggestions are most welcome.
c) Together with the ISI Impact factor reported by each journal on its web site, we report the Article Influence Score (AIS) and the H-index for the same journal, as well as the journal's position in the relative ranking.
d) We repeated the exercise for different social disciplines (e.g. economics, sociology, political science, psychology, business and so on).
e) Each classification thus takes the form of a 6 colums table of the following type. Journals' web sites and their editors web pages are linked within the tables when possible.

Other useful rankings
A citation-based ranking of behavioral economics and socio-economics journals.
A paper by Ofer Azar (Beng Gurion University of the Negev, 2006) ranking behavioral economics and socio-economics journals for the periods 2001-2005, 1996-2000, and 1996-2005. In all periods Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization was ranked first and Journal of Economic Psychology second. In 2001-2005 Journal of Socio-Economics ranked third.
New Approaches to Ranking Economics Journals
A paper by Yolanda K. Kodrzycki and Pingkang David Yu (Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, 2005). This study develops a flexible, citations‐adjusted ranking technique that allows a specified set
