Track coverage
The Social Responsibility in the Information Age track includes all aspects of social issues that are impacted by information technology affecting organizations and inter-organizational structures. This track provides an outlet for scholarship in the changes information resource management, information technology, and information systems have effected on society. The term “society” here refers to the world at large, nations, cultures within nations, and interaction among peoples. The scholarship examines who is affected, why, how, and where, and what effects those changes make in society. The topics in the track are expected to be varied. This would include the conceptualization of specific social issues and their associated constructs, proposed designs and infrastructures, empirical validation of social models, and case studies illustrating socialization success and failures.

Authors are invited to submit papers that address social issues affecting organizations, but not necessarily limited to the following:
1. Ethical issues
Codes of conduct and practice, Confidentiality agreements, Intellectual property rights, Electronic monitoring of employees, Impartiality of data utilization, Morality in information systems.
2. Cultural issues
Politics , Assimilation of emerging technologies, Developing trust , Management structures, Power asymmetry, Social barriers, Policy implementation, Social environments, Cultural customs, Social capital.
3. Relationship issues

Submission categories
Submissions for the 2007 IRMA International Conference may be submitted in the following categories (all submissions will undergo a double-blind, peer review by at least three external expert reviewers):
Full Length Submissions:
Those individuals interested may submit a full length (no more than 4000 words, including references and title page, with a maximum of 5 figures/ tables), original, and previously unpublished, conceptual or empirical research manuscript for review and decision by October 4, 2006. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings in their entirety (no more than 4000 words) OR as a 3000 word mini-paper, as recommended by the reviewers. High quality papers will be considered for further review and possible inclusion in an IRMA official journal. In addition, the best paper in terms of quality and suitability to the theme of the conference will be awarded the “Best Paper” Award.
Research-in-Progress Submissions:
Those individuals interested may submit research-in-progress proposals or a summary of tentative results of the study to date in 500-1000 words by October 4, 2006. Authors of accepted research-in-progress proposals will then be asked to forward a paper (no more than 2,000 words with a maximum of 3 figures/tables) by January 10, 2007 for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
Panel, Workshop, Tutorial and Symposium Submissions:
Individuals interested in conducting a panel, workshop, symposium or tutorial dealing with technological, managerial, professional, teaching, societal, national or international issues of information technology management are invited to submit a 500-1000 word proposal covering the objectives,
issues to be covered, and the names/addresses of any other panel, workshop, tutorial/symposium members. Method of presentation is at the submitter’s discretion; however, the submitter has the responsibility for providing his/her own participants (such as panel members). All accepted
proposals will appear in the conference proceedings. (Note: All panel, workshop, tutorial/symposium members must register and pay for the conference.) Panel presenters should know that during the conference, an LCD projector, screen and laptop computer will be provided by the association for each presentation. Any additional equipment needed for the panel, workshop, tutorial or symposium is at the discretion of the
presenter, and it will be his or her responsibility to provide the extra equipment.
Submission guidelines
All submissions must be received by October 4, 2006.
1. Manuscripts must not exceed 4000 words for full length submissions; 500-1000 words for research-in-progress summary/proposals; and 1000 words for panel, workshop, tutorial and symposium proposals.
2. Must be accompanied by a separate cover letter with every author(s) name, address, phone and fax numbers, e-mail, full affiliation and the track to which it is submitted. All correspondence will be sent to the first author unless otherwise specified.
3. Submitted papers must not currently be under review by any other publication or conference.
4. Submitters must provide their e-mail address where the acknowledgment will be forwarded.
5. The number of submissions by an author (including joint authorship) is strictly limited to a maximum of two submissions.
6. All submissions MUST be submitted electronically in either MS Word or rich text format (RTF).
